In 2020, we got off to great start. We were able to complete a large rework project on our planter right before going to field. The project required that we split the planter into 3 sections, and line bore the wing pivots. The picture above show the planter in the disassembled state, and the video below shows the line boring process. A special thanks to Jeff Ira, Scott Messmore, and Scott Hultman for all of their help making this project a success.

 

Once in the field, conditions were favorable, and was totally planted in seven days. Then the problems started.  We encountered two different replant situations late in the planting season getting those acres off to a slow start. The summer weather was good until August, when it turned of dry.  The crops didn’t finish well, due to the lack of moisture, and we experienced below average yields. Beings it was dry however, we felt it was a good time to deep till our farms to help correct some of the compaction problems created in 2019 prior years due to wet conditions. This worked very well, and we are looking forward to 2021 its positive returns. The dry conditions also allowed us to start and finish a large tile project after all the tillage work was complete.
